Spring Pet in the Park Adoption Day

The Moreno Valley Parks & Community Services Department, in conjunction with the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter, will host a special pet adoption day on Saturday, March 31, 2012. This paw-friendly event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Sunnymead Park located at 12655 Perris Blvd. Come and visit with the various local animals currently available for adoption.  For more information contact Moreno Valley Parks and Community Services Department at 413-3280.

SPRING ACTIVITIES FOR YOUTH

Saturday, March 31, Easter Egg Hunt for children 2-12 years at Sunnymead Park located at 12655 Perris Blvd. at 9:00 a.m. sharp. 

Saturday, March 31, a Bunny Brunch will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Senior Community Center located at 25075 Fir Avenue.  For a residential fee of $6.00, children ages 3-12 will enjoy a morning of games, crafts, a special breakfast,  and a visit from the Easter Bunny.

Easter Chef's Worshop will be held on Tuesday, April 3, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the TownGate Community Center.  A residential fee of $9.00, children ages 4-12 years will make delicious holiday goodies to take home and enjoy. 

Hop Down the Craft Trail on Thursday, April 5, at the TownGate Community Center located at 13100 Arbor Park Lane from 6:00-8:00 p.m.  A residential fee of $9.00 for this workshop for children
ages 4-12 years.

Pre-registration is recommended for the Bunny Brunch, Hop Down the Craft Trail, and the Spring Easter Chef's Workshop.  Multi-family and multiple activity discounts are available.  Please contact the Moreno Valley Parks and Community Services Department at 413-3280.

MORENO VALLEY SPRING VALLEY KIDS CAMP

Youth participants, from kindergarten through eighth grades, will spend their school breaks enjoying a variety of creative arts and crafts, games, music, talent shows, and trips to the Valley Skate Park.  This camp is located on March Air Reserve Base at 15325 Fifth Street.  Hours of operation are 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Enroll now for a $17 daily residential fee.  To pre-register call the Moreno Valley Parks and Community Services Department at 413-3280.

Foreclosure Assistance

If your home is close to being in foreclosure and you would like to have an advocate go to your morgage company, the Fair Housing Council, may be able to assist you.  You can give them a call at 951-653-6581.  When you call they will ask if you have downloaded the foreclosure packet.  You may obtain this packet by going to www.fairhousing.net
click on the foreclosure prevention tab and then click on download "disclosure packet now."

There are many services that the City of Moreno Valley offers.  Below is a list of some of the services.  You can research more about these services by going to www.moval.org.

The City of Moreno Valley has been awarded more than $12.6 million in federal stimulus funds to assist with the following: homeownership, homelessness prevention, and job creation programs.

 

Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP): The City was awarded $11.4 million in federal stimulus funds
to assist with the following neighborhood stabilization programs: 

The Homebuyer Assistance Program (HAPoffers income-eligible first-time homebuyers up to 20% of the new home’s purchase price.   A list of HAP-approved lenders can be found at www.moval.org.

Development partners have been selected to acquire Bank-owned and repair vacant Moreno Valley prop-erties for re-occupancy.  Check out the City’s Web site for a list NSP properties available for sale/rent to income eligible families.

Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP): The City was allocated $732,832 to
help Moreno Valley families who are at risk of becoming homeless or to rapidly re-house those who have recently become homeless as a result of the economy.

Assistance is available to help with:

- Late Rent

- Security Deposits

Late Utility Payments

Motel Vouchers

- Legal Assistance related to foreclosure or loss of housing.
